Grays Harbor Community Hospital Board member Robert Torgerson announced his resignation Thursday night, saying he is moving out of the district.

Torgerson, former Aberdeen Police Chief, was on the board before the hospital when it was a private, non-profit hospital, before voters made it a public hospital. He has been active on the board’s financial committee.

Torgerson was not at the meeting, but was connected by telephone. Board President Maryann Welch read his brief letter and thanked him for serving. The board will begin looking for a replacement right away.
