A two-vehicle, head-on collision on Wishkah Road sent three people to the hospital late Monday afternoon, according to Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office Chief Criminal Deputy Brad Johansson.
All three people involved in the crash were trapped in their vehicles and needed to be extracted by emergency responders.
A 2004 Ford Escort driven by a 36-year-old Hoquiam man was southbound on Wishkah Road at about 4 p.m. Johansson said witnesses reported the Escort crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 2015 Honda Civic driven by a 72-year-old Aberdeen man, whose wife was in the passenger seat.
The driver of the Ford Escort was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries, said Johansson. The driver of the Honda Civic was admitted to Community Hospital with serious injuries, and his wife was airlifted to Tacoma General with serious injuries.
Johansson said what caused the Escort to cross the centerline is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
