Two people died Tuesday night after their truck flipped when they were driving along the beach south of Westport. The two have been identified as Justin M. Neidiffer, 41, Petersburg, Alaska, and Trisha L. Loney, 32, of Westport.
According to the Patrol, their 2000 Ford F350 pickup truck was headed north, just past the Bonge beach approach about a mile south of Westport when the vehicle struck a hole that caused the truck to go airborne and then roll over. The vehicle was a total loss. The crash happened about 10 p.m.
Neidiffer was driving and reportedly not wearing a seat belt. Loney, a passenger, was wearing a seat belt, the Patrol said.
The crash is under investigation, but the Patrol report shows that alcohol or drugs were involved.
