Two separate wrecks in Pacific and Grays Harbor counties on Wednesday sent three people to area hospitals.
Shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday, two vehicles were traveling westbound on State Route 12 near Solki Road in Central Park. One, driven by a 57-year-old Hoquiam woman, slowed for traffic, according to a Washington State Patrol report, and was rear-ended by another vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Aberdeen driver. Both vehicles came to rest in lane one of westbound State Route 12.
The Hoquiam woman was transported to Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital in Aberdeen with undisclosed injuries. The Aberdeen driver and a 14-year-old passenger were not injured. The roadway was blocked for about 35 minutes. The State Patrol report cites the cause of the crash as following too closely.
A little more than an hour later, in Pacific County, a 35-year-old Raymond woman was eastbound on State Route 6 at milepost 2 in Raymond. Another vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Raymond man was westbound and, according to the State Patrol, failed to yield the right-of-way and turned left in front of the other vehicle.
The vehicles hit head-on. Both drivers were transported to Willapa Harbor Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The woman is facing charges of failure to yield and driving without a valid license, the State Patrol report stated.
