The City of Wesport has successfully completed the final Congressional review process and the commandant of the United States Coast Guard has designated Westport as an official “Coast Guard City USA,” according to a press release from Westport Mayor Rob Bearden.

Westport is now Washington State’s first official Coast Guard City and the smallest city by population in the national program.

In accordance with the programs guidance, the city will be working with the 13th District Command in Seattle to schedule the formal ceremony and events in Westport.
