Barbara Ann (Whipple) Peek, long-time Elma resident, died Aug. 23, 2020, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, Washington.

She was born April 7, 1945 in Bowdon, North Dakota, to Wayne & Olga (Werner) Whipple. She moved with her parents and family to Elma at a young age, attending school in Elma. She met James while in high school and they married on Sept. 4, 1964. Together, they built their home that they still resided in almost 50 years later.

She is survived by husband James of the family home; sons Travis (Mary) of Elma, Scott (Annie) of Sterling, Alaska; sisters Sharon (Bill) Barker of Shelton, Arv Duvall and Deanna Meister both of Elma; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Paulette Dodgen.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Elma Masonic Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home.
