Barbara Kay Bussard, 72, a resident of Montesano, Wash., passed away peacefully Oct. 15, 2017, in the presence of her family.

Barbara Kay Bussard, 72, a resident of Montesano, Wash., passed away peacefully Oct. 15, 2017, in the presence of her family. Barbara was born in Yakima, Wash., on June 17, 1945, to Albert and Violet Robinett.

Barbara had worked in saw mills, and had also worked as a scale master and retired working for Banaka Trucking as a flagger. Barbara married Walt Bussard in 1977. Together they have enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Barbara enjoyed trips to Yakima with her mom and sister, Linda to visit her grandmother. Barbara looked forward to family get togethers because family meant everything to her. She simply adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara was a proud mother, sister, wife, aunt and grandmother.

She is survived at the family home by her husband and best friend Walt Bussard. Her other relatives include her sisters, Linda Valentine and Donna Gass (Bob); her brothers, Butch Robinett (Kathy) and Mike Rogers (Kelly); her children, Steve Thompson (Doreen), Leann Edwards (Fory), David Thompson, Kaye Skirko (Eric); her step-sons, Mike Bussard (Diane), Kevin Bussard (Gail) and Brian Bussard; her grandchildren, Stacey Mathews (Keldy), Steven Thompson, Austin Thompson, Brian Fry (Cari), Brandon Fry, Kirstie Kaleb (Tony), Tyler Thompson, Jacob Skirko, Kaleb Skirko, Abigail Skirko, Paul Skirko, Jamie Bussard, Justin Bussard, Lyndsey Bussard, Jordan Bussard, Amanda Bussard and Cloe Bussard. She also has eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Robinett, Violet Rogers; her brother, Bobby Robinett, and her grandson, Seth Thompson.

A private family viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam, Wash.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. at the Elma Masonic Cemetery. Following the services there will be a potluck gathering at Assembly of God in Montesano, Wash.

Direction is by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam.
