Betty Trask, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Magnolia Woods Adult Family Home in Tumwater, Wash.

Betty Trask, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Magnolia Woods Adult Family Home in Tumwater, Wash. Betty was born in Seattle March 20, 1924, to Gus and Emma Stumpf. Betty grew up in west Seattle where she married her first husband, Robert Blackburn. She later married John Hircko and moved to Issaquah where she and John built and operated Johnnies Food Center. Her next move took her to Westport where she managed the charter offices first at Ocean Charters and later at the Islander. Betty then moved on to Elma with her third husband, Charles Ashlock where she drove pilot car for Interstate Asphalt Co. and worked the weigh station of the nuke plant that never was. Betty’s next life adventure took her to the warmth of southern California with her beloved husband, Jack Trask. Jack and Betty enjoyed retired life in Imperial Beach, Calif. spending time with friends and family. Betty and Jack had many fun adventures traveling to Mexico, Central and South America. Betty was always involved with the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Ladies Auxiliary wherever she lived. She loved to volunteer her time to prepare and serve large meals to raise funds for veterans.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Merle Jack Trask, brother, Paul Stumpf, children Sharron Nickell (Blackburn), Cheryl Messmer (Hircko), and John Hircko. Betty is survived by her sister Margaret Stanley (Stumpf), grandchildren Teresa DuBois, Uriah Messmer, Anastasia Messmer, Heather Hircko, and Aarin Hircko; great-grandchildren Cortney Suderman and Jessica Haag; and great-great-grandson’s Marcus and Levi Suderman.

Family and friends are invited to the event center at the Tradewinds in Tokeland, Wash. on Satrurday, Oct. 7, at 3 p.m., to reminisce and celebrate Betty’s life.
