Bonnie Lue Sunday, 86, former resident of Ballard, Washington, died March 29, 2020 in Aberdeen, Washington.
Bonnie was born on Oct. 25, 1933 at the family farm 25 miles east of Conrad, Montana to Albert and Ella Petersen.
She grew up there and graduated from High School in 1951. Then headed to Seattle where she attended Business School. In 1955 she married Bob Sunday.
Bonnie worked for Boeing in the parts dept. for five years. She then moved to Ballard where she and Bob started Sunset Vending Supply in distributing toys and candy for the next 15 years.
Later she and Bob moved to Lynden, Washington where they opened a B&B during Expo 86 for five years. The next business venture was Silverton Train Treasures in Colorado for 15 years.
They retired in Walla Walla, Washington.
She came to Aberdeen in Sept. of 2015. Bonnie had a stroke in June of 2016 and spent three years recovering in Seattle at a rehab center. Bonnie recovered and resided in Aberdeen the last seven months of her life. She enjoyed yoga, meditation, cooking, her grandchildren and traveling.
She is survived by a brother Jim Petersen. Her two sons: Dan Sunday of Aberdeen and Jeff Sunday of Seattle; five grandchildren: Waylon, Jennifer, Lindsey, Melissa and Jeff Jr.; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. She is also survived by Doug and Catherine Sunday and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Sunday in 2008, son, Scott Sunday in 2019; brothers: Bob, Bill, Mike and two sisters: Betty and Myrtle.
There will be a celebration of Bonnie and her son Scott’s life on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10 a.m. in Fern Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel in Aberdeen, Washington..
