Bruce Clevenger passed away Dec. 3, 2024, in Vancouver, Washington, after doing one of the things he enjoyed doing, watching the Montesano Bulldogs football game.
He was born Feb. 24, 1956, to Harold and Kathleen Clevenger. He graduated from MHS class of 1974. Bruce was born into a racing family and belonged to the EARA and raced modified Sprint Car #98 for over 10 years. Bruce worked for Grays Harbor County for 40 years and retired in 2016. In 1984, he married Linda Davis.
Bruce is survived by daughters Lisa Hill (Jerry), Shannon Barre (Adam), and Andi Clevenger (Jakob); grandchildren Katie Wareham, Megan Lockett, Lindsey Hill, Madi Lou Barre, Olivia and Ryleigh Yandle; and great-grandchildren Ashlynn and David Wareham. He loved cheering them on at their sporting events. He is also survived by his sister Cheryl Reed (Ron) and brother Troy Clevenger (Megan).
His passion was watching sports. He followed the Montesano High School fastpitch team all the way to the state championship games and was always at the MHS football home games on the “chain gang” or traveling to their away games. When he wasn’t busy yelling at the Seahawks, he loved traveling with his wife in the motor home around Washington State and to Arizona. He belonged to the Elma Eagles and the Montesano Moose
There will be a celebration of life (potluck style) at the Montesano Moose Lodge Dec. 22, 2024, at 2 p.m. In Bruce’s honor, please wear Seahawks, Huskies or Bulldogs attire.
Donations are suggested to the Montesano Fire Department.
Arrangements are entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary.
