Carmen Joy Blanchard passed away on Nov. 17, 2023. Carmen was born in 1951 as Carmen Joy Hoggatt to Ralph and Doris Hoggatt of Longview, Washington. She was the first child of four. At age 5, she moved with her family to Central Park where she attended Central Park Elementary, Hopkins Jr. High and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1969. Carmen continued her education with completion of two years of college at Grays Harbor College.

Carmen spent 25 years excelling in sales for Avon, including membership in the President’s Club, receiving numerous Ms. Albee awards and recognitions. She was a highly skilled knitter and crocheter and donated many of her projects to various organizations as well as friends and family. She was an avid reader and supported Aberdeen Timberland Library.

Carmen is survived by her husband, Jerry R. Blanchard, with whom she enjoyed 47 years of marriage. She is also survived by her sister Karen Wright (Dennis), nephew, Michael and niece Meghan; sister, Libby and younger brother, Wayne (Coy) with nephews, Ryan, Mitchell and Andrew. The extended family includes a stepdaughter, Amelia (Jeffery) Goldthorpe, brothers-in-law, Art Blanchard, (Jean, Michelle, Siri), Lester Selin (Cindy, Stephanie, Mike, Cheri, Krista, Jonathan) and sister-in-law, Maxine Selin.

Carmen was loved by many and will be missed.

Please join the family in a Celebration of Life at the Cosmopolis Lions Club, Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Timberland Library.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
