Carolyn Ruth Kramer
Carolyn Ruth Kramer passed away peacefully on March 15, 2023 at The Quarry Memory Care in Vancouver, Washington after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was surrounded by family and much love and comfort.
Born December 8, 1947, to her parents Walter and Ruth Anderson in Longview, Washington, she was the eldest of five children. She grew up in Deep River and Naselle, Washington. She told colorful stories of helping in the woods and with dairy and beef cattle through her young life. She graduated in 1966 from Naselle High School, then The University of Washington in 1970. She had a B.A. in Secondary Education, majoring in both math and art. She taught school in Olympia, Washington; Detroit; Oregon and Aberdeen, Washington as a young lady. She had a special gift inspiring kids with songs, dance and art.
Carolyn worked in Registration at Grays Harbor Community Hospital for 35 years before retiring in 2014. She continued to pursue art throughout her life. This included painting, drawing, embroidery, pottery, doll-making, photography, dance and piano. Her eclectic interests inspired each of her three children in different genres of art.
Carolyn enjoyed travel beginning with a trip to Sweden when young. She visited Japan and China later in life as well as many trips across the country for photography and genealogy. Her favorite destination was Maui, Hawaii.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Keith Kramer. The couple met at The University of Washington, then wed Aug. 29, 1970 at Naselle Lutheran Church. The couple loved each other immensely for 53 years and demonstrated loyalty and stability to their children throughout their marriage. Carolyn’s children include. Bryant Kramer (Lawsandra Kramer), Sharlaina Kramer (Mike Holman) and Rachelle Kramer (Nai Sae Chin). Her grandchildren include, Brysandra, Kaydence and Dominic. Carolyn is also survived by her siblings: Marilyn Johnson, Warren Anderson, Rhonda Laine and Wade Anderson.
Carolyn is resting in peace at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, Washington.
