Dale Alfred Johnson died peacefully on October 30, 2023, at his home in Wenatchee, Washington at the age of 75.

Born February 2, 1948, in Port Angeles, Washington to Harold and Pauline Johnson, Dale graduated from Seattle University in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and dedicated his entire career to public service, performing various administrative and leadership positions at community colleges across Washington, most notably, at Bellevue College and Grays Harbor College. Dale was the first member of his family to obtain an advanced degree when he earned his MBA from Pacific Lutheran University in 1995.

Dale met his wife Christine in 1979 while living in Seattle, Washington. The two fell in love and were wed in Bellevue, Washington in 1982. They raised two sons, Colin and Ryan. The consummate family man, Dale was actively involved in the lives of his sons and never missed one of their concerts, soccer games or school functions. He transferred that same devotion to his grandchildren and was intensely proud of each of their milestones and accomplishments. Fond of the outdoors, Dale was an avid deer hunter, golfer and skier.

Dale is survived by his wife Christine Johnson, his children Colin and Jessica Johnson of Lacey, Washington and Ryan and Elizabeth Johnson of Tacoma, Washington, his three grandchildren, his brother Larry Wolfe of Ronald, Washington, and his sister Terri Dailey of Gilbert, Arizona.

A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 1 at the Event Center at Pybus Market, 3 N Worthen Street, Wenatchee, WA 98801. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers and condolences, the family requests that donations be made in Dale’s name to local humane societies.
