Dale Franklin Lutton died Nov. 20, 2018, at his home in Cosmopolis. He was born in Yakima, June 8, 1932, to Les and Doris (Poe) Lutton, and moved to Aberdeen when he was 4 years old. He finished his school years in 1950 as a graduate of Weatherwax High School.

He was a trucker with his dad, Les, at Axford Prairie for a number of years, then moved to Hoquiam and started D&L Trucking. On Oct. 19, 1970, Dale married Ann Marie Jewers, truly the love of his life, and they lived a great adventure for 50 years. She resides at the family home.

Dale and Ann lived at Summit Lake for 25 years, moved to Cosmopolis some 25 years or so ago, built a home in Peoria, Ariz. where they spent a lot of winters, traveled in their motor home, boated around Puget Sound, traveled to Maui to stay in their time-share, and enjoyed parasailing just to live on the edge. Dale loved to fly his plane out of Bowerman Field and finally quit flying in 1975. His trucker CB handle was “Fly Boy”. Imagine.

He loved to dance as a member of the Elks, Eagles, and Lions Clubs- he and Ann were good, I might add. Jitter bug was his favorite. After he retired from trucking, selling out to his brother, Tracey, he and Ann took up golf and joined the Grays Harbor Country Club. He golfed in Arizona and won some trophies at local tournaments there.

Dale worked – hard and all the time. Yet he loved life, and was a kind and generous man. He was fun to be around, had a killer smile, was a good neighbor, and spoke well of everyone he ever met. He loved to help people. A stroke on his right side 12 years ago slowed him down, but his strong left-hand grip showed his determination to keep going. He was a voracious reader all his life, and always had a book going.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; his brother Tracy (Deborah) of Central Park; sons Brad, of Palm Springs, Calif.; Ty (Di) of Arizona; Les of Seattle. His sister, Jessie Sidor died in New Mexico six months ago, and daughter Debbie Reynvaan died last year.

Dale had five grandchildren – Chad (Fauna),Jillane (Terry),Ashley, Finn, and Rohan; five great-grandchildren – Braden, Cohen, Issac, Drake and Quinn; one niece, Shaylee (Matt), and one nephew, Tracey Michael.

There will be a celebration of life for Dale on December 8, 11 a.m., at light & Life Community Church at 2740 Simpson Ave, Hoquiam, Wash. All are invited to a potluck meal following the service. Bring your best dish, and dessert is always a good idea.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Light & life Community Church.
