Former Raymond resident, Daniel Di Guilio, age 68, passed away of a sudden heart attack in Sebastian, Fla. on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2018.
A small memorial will be held on Friday, Feb 9, 2018, at Sebastian Inlet State Park and a larger celebration of life will be held at a later date.
He was born in Aberdeen, Wash., April 3, 1949, to Albert and Phyllis Di Guilio.
Dan spent three years in the Army as a Military Policeman before attending Western Washington University. He worked for Grays Harbor County regional planning commission in Aberdeen before starting his 27 year career in Public Transportation at the newly created Pacific County Transit System. In 1995 he moved to Port Angeles to head up Clallam County Transit. He retired in 2005.
In 2007, Dan was elected to the City Counsel where he served two terms where he was selected as Mayor twice.
Dan and Carol moved to Sebastian, Fla. during the summer of 2016 to be closer to her family.
Dan was a well respected leader and manager in the Public Transit Sector. He was also a dedicated member of Kiwanis International.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his brother Robert 20 years to the day.
He is survived by his older brother Barry; wife Carol; their sons; Ben and his wife Kelly, and Matthew; and two grandchildren.
