David Alan Christensen of Cosmopolis, died on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at Swedish Medical Center.

David Alan Christensen, age 62, a resident of Cosmopolis, died on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. David was born on Aug. 13, 1958, in Williston, North Dakota to Ronald and Lucille (Elletson) Christensen. He grew up in North Bend, Oregon, graduating from North Bend High School.

He then served in the U.S. Army, as a military policeman, stationed in Germany. Following his discharge, he moved back to Oregon, where he started his long career in corrections at the Oregon State Penitentiary. He eventually settled in the Grays Harbor area, working for the Grays County Sheriff’s Department as deputy and superintendent. He also worked at Data Computer, Aberdeen Police Department, Grays Harbor Juvenile Corrections Center, and Washington Department of Corrections at CBCC and SCCC.

On Sept 12, 1987, he married the love of his life, Diane (Giles) Christensen at the Montesano Presbyterian Church. They resided at the family home in Cosmopolis.

Dave loved playing computer games, building and fixing computers for friends and family, and watching sports with his son, especially rooting for his favorite team the LA Rams. He was known and loved by many in the community, always willing to lend a helping hand to any in need. He built many lifelong friendships in the community and will be truly missed.

Surviving relatives include a son Corey Christensen of Aberdeen; three sisters, Mary Jane McGuire, Susan Christensen Noah and Kari Sholter, all of Coos Bay, Oregon, along with numerous other family and friends in Olympia. Oregon and North Dakota. His wife Diane; a brother, Randy Christensen; and his mother and father, preceded him in death.

There will be no service at this time.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary of Hoquiam.
