David Gene Shaw Sr., age 67, a resident of Cosmopolis, Washington, died on Jan. 26, 2022, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle.

David was born on Jan. 6, 1955 in Aberdeen to Leonard Shaw Sr. and Dorthy(Parbon) Shaw. David was a member of the Quinault Indian Nation. He attended Cosmopolis and Weatherwax High School. In 1974, David began working at the Weyerhauser Sawmill in Aberdeen until it closed.

David married Jeanne LaRocque, his wife of 20 years. And remained close until his passing.

David enjoyed hiking, camping, boating and traveling with his family. He was always there when someone needed help to lend a helping hand.

David is survived by his son David (Kerri) Shaw Jr., brother Leonard (Debbie) Shaw, sister Pam Nolan and granddaughter Shania Steen. He was preceded in death by his daughter Salina Marie Shaw who passed away in 1998.

A graveside service will be held in Forest Hill Cemetary in Cosmopolis on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the home of Jeanne LaRocque in Cosmopoli.

Services are entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
