A lifelong resident of Elma David Neal Shelton passed away at Summit Pacific Medical center in Elma on Dec. 16, 2022.
David was born in Aberdeen Washington July 4, 1950 to parents Robert and Virginia Shelton of Elma.
David was a graduate of Elma High School and graduated with honors from the University of Washington. He was a retired chemical engineer at Rohm and Haas LLC in Elma.
David married Jackie Lorrain Colley on Dec. 10, 1984.
David was preceded in death by his wife Jackie (2003) and his mother Virginia (2019). David is survived by his father Robert Shelton of Elma, brothers Mark (Cindy) Shelton of Elma and Scott (Carole) Shelton of Gig Harbor, nephew Rob Shelton of Elma; nieces Rania (Greg) Carter of Edmonds, Stephanie (Chris) Quimby of McCleary and Kayla (Darrell) Kangiser of Port Orchard; two step-daughters Angie McCallister and Jamie Colley of Olympia, step-granddaughter Shanna Boyer of Tacoma and step-grandson Leon Boyer of Olympia.
David was a past Worthy President of Aerie 1440 and served his 12th year as an Aerie 1440 Trustee. He was an active and contributing member of Aerie 1440 who helped raise thousands of dollars for diabetes research at the University of Washington and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.
Donations in his memory are suggested to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.
There will be a celebration of life on Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Eagles 1440 Lodge at 404 West Young St. in Elma, Washington 98541.
