Deanne Marie Parks, a 63-year-old resident of Hoquiam, died Friday morning on Nov. 29, 2024, at Providence St. Peter hospital in Olympia, Washington.
Deanne was born on Dec. 12,1960, in Olympia, Washington to Louie and Penny Stricevich. Deanne was the youngest of three children. Her brothers were Jon and Anthony Stricevich. Deanne grew up in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1979. After high school, Deanne attended Grays Harbor Community College in Aberdeen and she received her Associates in Arts degree.
Deanne established her roots in Grays Harbor working locally at Duffy’s restaurant and Casa Mia in Hoquiam upon graduating college. She was a kindhearted and good-natured person. In her adult life she became a caregiver and a certified nurses aid at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab in Aberdeen, Washington. She had a passion for helping people.
Deanne’s hobbies included painting, clam digging, swimming, and spending time outdoors. She joined a bowling league with her mother Penny Stricevich at Spare Time Bowl where she bowled for many years. She also participated in co-ed softball locally for an extended time playing at Pioneer Park. The Stricevich family owned a lot at Wynoochee Wildwood where Deanne spent many of summers as a child. She had very fond memories of the river.
Deanne is survived by her daughters: Danielle Parks and Dana Wolf, a stepson Darrin Parks and her brother Anthony Stricevich. She was preceded in death by a brother Jon Stricevich.
Deanne will be inurned at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen, Washington
