Aberdeen resident Kurt Rae Trader died Dec. 5, 2024, in Aberdeen. He was 52.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at the 40 et 8 Club in Aberdeen.

Eric W. Meister

Eric Warren Meister, a lifetime Elma resident and former forester, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at Capital Medical Center in Olympia. He was 64.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Rotary Log Pavilion in Aberdeen.

A full obituary will be published in the coming days.

Arrangements are by Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.

Richard ‘Rich’ E. Holly

Hoquiam resident Richard “Rich” Earl Holly died at home Thursday, January 23, 2025. He was 63.

Arrangements are entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary.

Bobbie Cooper

Bobbie G. Cooper, a longtime resident of Westport, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2025, in Hoquiam. She was 91.

She worked as a server and bartender in the Westport area for over 50 years.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Michael C. Bennett

Aberdeen resident Michael Charles Bennett, a longtime educator, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at home. He was 80.

He began teaching at Hopkins Junior High School in 1976 then at Aberdeen High School where he taught drama and English.

Services are being planned and will be announced later.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Shirley A. Ward

Shirley Anne Ward died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at her home in Cosmopolis. She was 78.

In 1967, she began her nursing career at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, where she worked as a registered nurse until retiring in 1995.

A celebration of life is being planned at the Hoquiam Senior Center on Shirley’s birthday, March 22. The time will be announced later
