Diana Murnen Spencer, born on June 29, 1950, in Roseburg, Oregon, to Edgar and Evelyn Murnen, passed away peacefully on Nov. 25, 2024, in Medford, Oregon. She was 74 years old.

Diana is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Kristyn Moss of Tacoma, Washington, and Jamie Pense of Lakewood, Washington; her son-in-law Gerry Pense; and her cherished granddaughter, Camryn Pense. She is also survived by her siblings John Murnen (Becky), David Murnen (Connie), Kathy Lytle (Mike), and Rob Murnen (Susan), as well as many nieces and nephews. Diana was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bruce Spencer, her son Jacob Jupiter, and her sister Marilyn Dittman.

Diana found immense joy in spending time with her family, particularly at their treasured cabin on Hood Canal. She had a deep appreciation for nature and loved working in her garden, traveling to new places, and being near the water. In late 2018, Diana moved to Brookings, Oregon, where she and her partner Bob Hansen enjoyed living by the coast. During this time, she became an active participant in the local gardening group sharing her passion for plants and community.

A celebration of Diana’s life will be held on Jan. 25, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at the Polson Museum in Hoquiam.

Diana’s warmth and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
