Donald “Don” Lenard Barton passed away at home on Sept. 2, 2022. He was born to Donald and Gladys Barton on Aug. 14,1941, in Aberdeen, Washington. Don was raised in Hoquiam, Washington, graduating from high school in 1958. He served in the U.S. Marines, receiving an honorable discharge on Feb. 3, 1966. He lived most of his life in Grays Harbor, but spent several years in Sitka, Alaska, working with Barton and Reynvaan Logging Company.

He participated in logging shows in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska, winning All Around Logger in both Hoquiam and Sitka, Alaska. He was involved for many years with Hoquiam Loggers Playday, serving as Chairman in 1983 and Grand Marshall in 2015.
