Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Dorothy Lynn Broten passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020.

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Dorothy Lynn Broten passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020, at her home in Aberdeen, Washington. She was 72 years old. Dorothy was born July 13,1948, to Earl Vessey and Hannah Case in Aberdeen.

Growing up, Dorothy was raised in Olympia, Washington graduating from Tumwater High School in 1966. After high school she attended school at Dewitt Beauty School. She then went to work for Sears for a couple years.

In 1969, Dorothy moved down to Aberdeen where she met her husband Kenneth Broten, and they later married on April 10, 1971, in Cosmopolis, Washington. Once married she was able to stay home and take care of the three children.

In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed baking, doing puzzles and spending quality time with her grandkids. In her younger years she loved exploring the outdoors and would go camping every chance she had.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Broten of Aberdeen; daughters Carla (Mark) Wilson of Aberdeen and Jessica Scott of Grayland, Washington; brothers Carl Vessey of Aberdeen and Chris Vessey of McCleary, Washington; sister Earlene Thibeau of Rapid City, South Dakota as well as her four grandkids: Chase Wilson, Kendal Wilson, Kalvyn Scott and Emily Scott. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl Vessey and Hannah Case, and by her son Dennis Broten.
