Douglas Eugene Cornman passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Doug was born on Oct. 5, 1940, to Clyde Raymond Cornman and Esther Estelle Wolmer in Bellingham, Washington. He was raised in Gig Harbor, Washington, and moved to the Grays Harbor area in 1977.
Doug was a lifetime self-employee, owning his business in the seafood industry. Doug was married to Jayne Calligan on Aug. 15, 1970, in Tacoma, Washington. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Aberdeen, Washington. He loved to travel and spend his retirement time in Arizona.
The family can’t give enough thanks to the community of Westport and the greater Grays Harbor area for the opportunities, assistance, and support provided to Doug and his dreams over the last 45 years. They also want to extend their thanks to the South Beach RFA for the professionalism, care and support they have provided to Doug these past years.
Doug is preceded by his parents Clyde Cornman and Esther Wolmer; son Steve Rasmussen; brothers Marvin Smith, Floyd Cornman, and Clyde Cornman; and sister Lillian Spangler. He is survived by his wife Jayne Cornman of Dupont, Washington; sons Eldon Cornman of Westport, Washington, Kevin Cornman of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Michael Cornman of Westport, Washington, and Mike Rasmussen of Phoenix, Arizon; daughters Karen Overby of Tacoma, Washington, Connie Looker of Tacoma, Washington, and Karen Wenger of Westport, Washington; brothers Wally Cornman of Vaughn, Washington, and Wayne Cornman of Gig Harbor, Washington; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to South Beach Regional Fire Association, Cornerstone Church or the Ocosta Booster Club.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at Cornerstone Church in Aberdeen.
