Longtime Montesano resident Duncan Lyman Cobb Jr. passed away at his home on Friday, May 5, 2017, after a courageous fight with Bile Duct Cancer. He was 69. Duncan was born Dec. 18, 1947, in Caudersport, Penn. to Duncan and Marilyn (Barker) Cobb Sr. He was raised in Potter’s County, Penn. until they moved to Grays Harbor in 1961. He attended Hoquiam High School and graduated from Wishkah Valley in 1966. He also attended Grays Harbor College.
In December 1967 Duncan enrolled in the Navy. He was a Vietnam veteran.
On Jan. 9, 1979, Duncan married his wife Debbie, she survives at the family home.
Duncan had worked at Bill’s XL during high school. He had worked over forty years in the Pulp and Paper Industry, working at both ITT Rayonier and Grays Harbor Paper. Duncan was a member of the Cast Iron Seat Collectors Club and the Montesano VFW. He loved gardening, cooking, fishing, trapping, and collecting antique farm equipment. Duncan’s favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and his cats Muffin, Molly and Zippee. Family was very important to him.
In addition to his loving wife Debbie he is also survived by his mother Marilyn Pratt, two sons Tyson of Montesano and Curt (Lisa) of McCleary; brother Clark Cobb; sisters Dotti (Bob) Smith, Debbi (John) Matisons, Karen (Bill) Linne and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Duncan Lyman Cobb Sr., his grandparents Dorothy and Elymus Barker and his brothers Ty and David.
Duncan touched the hearts of many during his lifetime. We were truly blessed. We will Love and Miss You Forever.
There will be a memorial service at a future date.
