Elmer A. Clark Sr. was born in Seattle on June 28, 1927, and passed away on Feb. 14, 2017, at the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting from complications of the flu. He graduated from Bellingham HS in 1947 and looked forward to the annual reunions. He served in the Occupation of Japan in the Army Air Corps and retired from the retail clerks.
He enjoyed traveling, gardening and studying science and history. He had maintained his home in Aberdeen for 30 years where he was ham radio operator KB70JY.
He was predeceased by his wife Charlotte, daughter Judy, and son Keith. Elmer is survived by sons Elmer Jr. (Linda) Puyallup, Frank Clark (Phyllis) of Torrance, Calif., grandchildren Mike Clark of Graham, Steve Clark of Shoreline, Chad and Randy Clark of Torrance, Calif., Fred Osborn of El Mirage, Ariz., Mary Osborn of Bakersfield, Calif., Katrina Figueroa of Houston, Texas, Briana Clark of Fla., Christopher Clark of Wyoming and Joanna Sanders-Clark of Bellingham and his trustee dog Roxy. He has 12 great-grand-kids, two great-great-grands and one triple great-grandson.
Internment on Friday, March 10, at Green Acres Memorial Park in Ferndale with viewing 10:30-11:30 a.m., Services at noon in Chapel. Following graveside military honors, there will be a celebration of life at American Legion Post 154, 5537 Second Ave, Ferndale 3-5 p.m.
