Loving grandmother and mother-in-law, Elnora Irene Wood, passed away on Jan. 15, 2022. She was born to Anthony Koss and Velma Gleason on Nov. 17, 1923, in Aiken, Minnesota. She was raised in Warwick, Maryland, and attended Warwick High School and then Federal Weather Bureau Training School. She worked for the Federal Weather Bureau, Fort Richardson, and then the USPS for 18 years.

During her life, she also lived in Anchorage, Alaska; Germany; Chicago, Ilinois; Seattle, Renton, Puyallup and Westport, Washington.

Elnora married Joe Wood in Fort Richardson, Alaska. They were married until Joe passed away in 2000.

Elnora was a part of many food drives and charities. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, basket making and stamp collecting.

Elnora is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lory; grandsons Kevin D. Johnson and Kristopher J Wood; and brother Allen Koss. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe; parents Anthony and Velma, son Joe Edgar Wood, daughter Teresa Ann Wood, brother Darrell Koss, and sisters Linda Kollowsky, Myra Harrington, Verolia Philips and Frances Pachin.
