Elsie Barbara (Thurman) Kingery, age 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Summit Pacific Medical Center surrounded by her children. She was born April 25, 1943, in Chaseley, North Dakota to Edna Hamann and Ray Thurman. Her family moved from Chaseley to Elma in August 1952. She was a 1961 graduate of Elma High School. She married George Kingery shortly after graduating high school in 1963. She worked for the State in Social Service for 25 plus years and was an active member of the Elma Eagles Auxiliary for 50 years with her last position being a trustee. Elsie truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures; played on the pool league, loved camping in her younger years, was actively crocheting all the time, loved her gardening, chatting and spending time with family and friends.

Elsie is survived by her children, Brian (Miranda) Kingery, Denise (John) Hinkle; grandchildren Brooke Betts, Chelsea (Chris) Jones, Matthew Overbey-Martinez, Talejah Overbey-Creamer, Briley Kingery, Alyssa Villegas, Morgan Stenek; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jadyn, Donovan, and Conor; her sister, Joy (George) Easton, brother, Larry (Debbie) Thurman; and many nieces and nephews. Family, friends, and others whose lives Elsie touched are invited to her celebration of life at the Elma Eagles June 11, 2022, at 11 a.m. To reminisce, grieve, and support each other.
