Evelyn Walloch, a longtime Aberdeen resident, passed away on May 16, 2017, at her assisted living facility in Moraga, Calif. She was born in Biloxi, Miss., on Sept. 7, 1921, to John and Mary (Mandich) Dujmov. The family moved to Hoquiam in 1927.
Evelyn graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1939. She worked in the San Diego, Calif. shipyard during WWII in a “Rosy the Riveter” type position. She married Jerry (Dale) Walloch in 1946. She is survived by her son Richard Walloch of Orinda, Calif.
Evelyn worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Aberdeen School District for 15 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aberdeen.
While an Aberdeen resident she enjoyed visits from her grandchildren Justin and Gregory Walloch, and her great-grandchildren, Luke and Mia Walloch.
Interment will be at Fern Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. on June 4. Memorials may be sent to the Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church building fund at 420 N Broadway St, Aberdeen, WA 98520.
