Longtime Elma resident, Francis “Frank” Joseph Menzel Jr. passed away at Summit Pacific Medical Center on Oct. 6, 2024, at the age of 94.
Frank was born on Jan. 22, 1930 in Oakland, California to parents Francis Joseph Menzel Sr. and Josephine Elizabeth Thomas. He was a 1948 graduate of Castle Mont High School. On Aug. 18, 1951, he married Phyllis Davis at The Assembly of God Church in Malone, Washington.
Frank was a mill worker at Simpson Door Company for 45 years before finally retiring in 1993. He was a faithful member of the Bethany Baptist Church and also played the violin in the Masters Singers Gospel group.
Frank is survived by his wife, Phyllis Menzel; sons Doug (Karen) Menzel of Aberdeen and Tim (Debra) Menzel of McCleary, as well as 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Josephine Menzel.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 Bethany Baptist Church in Elma, with Michael Koontz officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary.
