Frank, age 82, passed away Sept 16, at home from heart failure, surrounded by loved ones. He was born and raised in Montesano, Washington, where he attended school and began his early work career.
Frank was born and raised in Montesano, Washington where he attended grade school and some high school. He started working early at the Chevrolet garage, then L&I came in and said he couldn’t work there because he wasn’t 18. He then went to work at Paul’s Service Station in Montesano. He then worked at Industrial Cut Stock in Cosmopolis, then Blevins Mills in Aberdeen, then gasoline tanker for a job in South Bend. Finally, he retired from the Department of Correction at McNeil Island as a transport driver.
Frank had many hobbies, including riding his motorcycle with his wife. They loved attending rallies and camping with their motorcycle club. His passion was his music. He was a self-taught guitarist/musician. He never learned to read music so he learned by listening. He was excellent at knowing all the notes and he was aware if someone was in the wrong key.
Frank is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan. He is also survived by his children Cathy (Mark) Larkins, Richard, Merrijo (Joe) Cavanaugh, Frank Jr., Lee and Melodie Hutchinson. Frank also had two step-daughters Janet Nations and Tia Warren, one step-son Paul Belcher, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Lola Chalmers and Art Hutchinson and seven brothers and sisters.
We will miss him very much. We know he is with the band now making wonderful country music.
