George A. Bell, 82 years of age and a longtime resident of Aberdeen, Wash., passed away on March 21, 2018, at his home in Johns River. He was born on Sept. 12, 1935, to George and Ruby (Hart) Bell in Opal, S.D., where he resided until about the age of one when he moved with his family to Grays Harbor. George attended Ocosta High School, graduating in 1955.
George enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in December 1955 and served until being honorably discharged in December 1961. After the military he moved back to the family homestead in Johns River. He went to work at Ocean Spray Cranberries in 1960 until he retired in 1990.
George was always outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, taking long hikes in the woods with Chub, and playing on his tractor. He always kept busy with many projects around the homestead.
His survivors include brothers Art Bell and Bob Bell; sister Florence Edwards; multiple nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Lester Bell; sisters Myrtle Bessinger and Emma Lou Newman.
At George’s request there will be no memorial service held.
