George Edward Halverson passed away on May 5, 2017, in Bellevue, Wash. surrounded by his wife (Trudy) and family. George, the second of four children, was born on Jan. 19, 1924, in Cosmopolis, Wash. to Edward and Anna Halverson.
Following graduation from Aberdeen High School in 1942, he met his future Bride Trudy. He attended Portland University and Carroll College in Montana, and a short time at the University of Washington. He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corp during WWII. George returned home and Married Trudy Gleeson Jan. 4, 1947. George worked the night shift at the Schafer Bros. Mill for years, until he founded
Grays Harbor Realty. After 30 plus years of real estate, he retired to Brady, Wash. where he and Trudy enjoyed living and George working the Brady Christmas Tree Farm. Family was the focus for George; never missing momentous occasions and traveling around the world with his children and grandchildren.
George will be missed as a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and Elks Club.
George is survived by his wife of 70 years, Trudy; daughter Jane Quigg and JT (deceased), son Al and Patty Halverson, daughter Ann and Dick Hinderlie, daughter Gail and Craig Olson and daughter Nancy and Jim Brinton; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward and mother Anna Halverson, sisters Betty Leffler and Molly Johnson, and brother David Halverson.
A funeral mass was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elma on Saturday, May 13, 2017. The family requests any remembrances be made to St. Mary’s School.
