George Lloyd Williams Jr. “Tin Cup”, 64, flew home with his angels March 22, 2017. Mr. Williams was born Jan. 19, 1953, in Aberdeen, Wash. to George Sr. and Helen Williams. He was a long time resident of Grays Harbor and its natural beauty. He loved the wilderness and to him, this was home.
George joined the U.S. Army in 1973, and was quickly recruited into a job that captivated him the rest of his career, driving big rigs. In 1976 he came home to Grays Harbor to his wife Karla Hicks and two children Jamie and Christopher.
In “Tin Cup’s” younger days he rode dirt bike and enjoyed racing. George was a season ticket holder for the Elma Speedway. George made you smile, on your darkest days, during your happiest memories, he held humor in every fiber of his being.
In 1978 he married the love of his life Gwendolyn. Gwen had three sons, David, Robert, and Jason. Together George and Gwen had two children, Patricia and Kenneth.
“Tin Cup’s” favorite pass time, rain or shine, was camping. This is what George loved the most. Seeing his family mud stained, warming by the fire, and exhausted with happiness.
George is survived by his wife Gwen; daughters, Jamie and Patricia; sons, Christopher, Jason, Kenneth, David, Robert; children in love; Kevin, Shawna, Duke; sister, Nancy Miller; neice Katrina; and grandchildren, Kyrstin, Samantha, Mathew, Ryan, Breanne, Natasha, Jacob, Isiaih, Austin, and Sage. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Helen and a baby brother John.
A service will be held at American Legion Hall in Aberdeen on Saturday, April 8, at 1 p.m.
Condolences may be sent to 18803A Old Hwy 99 SW Rochester, WA 98579.
We are sad you left us, but are happy you got your wings.
