Glenn Sherman DeWayne Wilson Jr., former recycler from Weyerhaeuser in Portland, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at his home.

Glenn Sherman DeWayne Wilson Jr., 68, former recycler from Weyerhaeuser in Portland, Oregon, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at his home in South Aberdeen, Washington.

Glenn was born on Jan. 29, 1955. in St. Joseph, Missouri to Glenn Sherman DeWayne and Alberta (Mitchell) Wilson Sr. He grew up in St. Joseph, and attended school there.

On Dec. 7, 1972, Glenn married Donna K. Thomas in St. Joseph. She resides at the family home.

In 1975, they moved to Portland, Oregon where he went to work for Sunmark Data in NW Portland for over 25 years. He then went to work for Weyerhaeuser in Portland doing recycling for the next 12 years.

Following his retirement, he moved to Aberdeen in 2005.

Glenn liked working on cars, bowling and building model cars.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna Wilson of Aberdeen; three daughters: Donna May (Raymond) of Texas, Ella Wilson of Vancouver, Washington and Marjorie (Michael) Knotts of Aberdeen, Washington; son: Chief Warrant Officer Norman (Emily) Mininger of Washington, D.C.; two brothers: Mark Wilson and Kenneth Wilson both of St. Joseph, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Glenn was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Wilson and a sister, Tammy Wilson.

There will be a celebration of Glenn’s life held this summer. Details will follow later.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
