Gretchen married Doug Samples Sr., they later divorced.

She worked for many years at Grays Harbor Paper. She then went to work for the Aberdeen School Dist. retiring from there.

She had many hobbies, she was a wonderful artist.

She never missed any of her grandchildrens games. Her life

was her children and grandchildren.

Gretchen is survived by her daughter, Karla Beaulieu (Charles) of Elma; her sons, Doug Samples (Candy) of Wishkah and Rollo Samples of Sammamish. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Manley of Hoquiam and Sally Carlson of Hoquiam. Her grandchildren, Erica Dugger of Hoquiam, Chad Beaulieu (Dalyn) of Elma, Melissa Randloph (Jake) of Olympia and Anaka Rae Ofstedal of Seattle. Her great-grandchildren, Chalyn Marie Beaulieu of Elma and Kayden Riser Black of Arkansas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her dearest friend Shaerian Winters of Hoquiam.

Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Isabel Gilbert and Patricia Legander, niece, Sarah Legander and her nephew Daniel Gilbert.
