Helen Margaret Owen, 88, a longtime resident of Aberdeen, died at her home in Aberdeen, Friday, March 24, 2017.

Helen Margaret Owen, 88, a longtime resident of Aberdeen, died at her home in Aberdeen, Friday, March 24, 2017. She was born in Olympia, Wash., Dec. 23, 1928, the daughter of George and Lena (Regan) Reineke.

Helen had worked as a nurse at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in the 1950’s and in later years owned and operated Lawn Services and More from 1995 to 2004.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Aberdeen. She enjoyed taking care of her grand and great- grandchildren but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker and loved her gardening and flowerbeds.

Helen was married in 1949 to Chauncey Owen in Aberdeen. He passed away in Aberdeen in 1994.

She is survived by a son: Dave, Aberdeen; a sister: Virginia Keatley in Michigan; a granddaughter: Tracie Margaret Phansisay; and a great-granddaughter: Makayla Phansisay; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers George and Ralph Reineke and a sister Doris Burgess.

There will be a celebration of her life from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 8, at the family home, 302 W. Scott St., Aberdeen. Private inurnment was held in the Fern Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, Aberdeen.
