Beloved mother and lifetime resident of Grays Harbor, Helen Paskas Jenna, passed away peacefully at the Montesano Health and Rehab Clinic on March 21, 2020. She was born in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1919 and celebrated her 100th birthday with many family and friends in July.
Helen graduated from Aberdeen High School with the class of 1938. She worked for Boeing during the war and at the Grays Harbor Chair Factory and a local seafood cannery after 1945 for a few years.
Helen lived in Aberdeen until 1977 with her husband, Joseph Jenna, (whom she married in 1946) and then moved to Montesano for the remainder of her life. They were members of the Teamsters, Polish Club of Grays Harbor, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Aberdeen, and since 1987, the United Methodist Church of Montesano.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline and Adam Paskas; brother, Joseph Paskas; husband, Joe; daughter, Karen Sawyer and son John David Morningside. She is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Mitchell of Pahrump, Nevada; grandson, Justin Brown of Boise, Idaho; granddaughter, Staci Machac of Aurora, Colorado; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the state Covid-19 virus restrictions for gatherings, Helen was interred at the Wynoochee Cemetery next to her husband on March 27, 2020, with no religious services provided. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the United Methodist Church of Montesano.
