Jack Lott, 77, of Montesano, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Jack was born on Nov. 5, 1941, to Carl and Deloris Lott in Springfield, Illinois. After graduating high school, he moved to Denver, Colorado, and years later moved to Washington state. Jack was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam as a tank driver. He was honorably discharged July 1, 1973.
Jack was truly a “Jack of all trades.” He held his pilot license, he participated in a rodeo circuit, raced hydroplane boats and was an excellent woodworker. Jack and Patty spent their retirement in both Montesano, Washington, and in Needles, California, where he enjoyed riding his Razor ATV in the Mojave Desert nearby. He was also an honorable member of the Masons, Harmony Lodge #18 in Tumwater, Washington.
He married Patsy Lott on July 10, 2005, in Aberdeen. She survives at the family home. He is also survived by three step-children, Mark (Kerri) Mollett of Aberdeen, Mitch Mollett of Lacey and Pamela Hatfield of West Linn, Oregon, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two nephews, Steven and Robert Dobbins and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jane Dobbins of Colorado.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jack and Patty’s friends at the Desert View RV park in Needles, California. Their love and support are immeasurable.
A potluck and celebration of Jack’s life will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Country Estates clubhouse at 57 Clemons Rd., Montesano, WA. For our enjoyment, Elvis songs will be played at Jack’s request.
