James E. Law

James E. Law (AKA Jim) was born October 31, 1953 to Alice and James Law in Aberdeen.

James E. Law (AKA Jim) was born Oct, 31, 1953 to Alice and James Law in Aberdeen. He grew up along the Wishkah River and attended Weatherwax High School from 1969 to 1972. In 1972, Jim joined the United States Army and headed off to Fort Lewis Army Base in 1973. From there he was sent to Vienza, Italy in 1975, and from there to Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1978, then moving onto Fort Monmouth, Indiana in 1980. In 1980, he was moved to Fort Ord followed by Frankfurt Germany in 1982. His assigned rank was Sargent E5. He also had tours in Japan and was a chaplain specialist for three years and a cook specialist for eleven years.

Jim joined the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

Jim studied business at Grays Harbor College in 1986 and graduated in 1986, then from 1986 to 2010 Jim worked for the Work Source office as veteran’s representative to help former military personnel find employment.

Jim has also helped work on the Friend’s Landing project in 1998-99.

Jim and Tammy were married from Sept. 20, 2014 to July 12, 2020. There were no children, just pets. Jim was a loving and understanding husband. He loved the outdoors, traveling and working the Grays Harbor County Fair with Tammy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy as well as his brothers Greg (Ellen), Dave (Teresa) and Kevin (Lisa), his sister Cathy (Angie), and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by his mother, Alice; father, James; and brother Joe.

Jim was an avid wrestling fan. He loved watching Portland wrestling in his younger years and then as an adult he watched the WWF, WCW and WWE.

He enjoyed family time, especially family reunions at Rainbow Falls State Park in Centralia and Lewisville Park in Battle Ground.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Montesano.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
