Jean Heikkinen passed away in her home in North Cove of natural causes on Jan. 21, 2025. She was born Jean Mary Stewart on March 14, 1949, in Ontario Oregon. Jean is survived by her husband, Michael Heikkinen, her two children, Rhonda Riggs from Richland, Washington and Rex Riggs from Lewiston, Idaho, Michael’s two children, Tanya Denison and Chad Heikkinen, both from Moscow, Idaho, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her close friends.

Jean grew up in southwestern Idaho graduating from Weiser High School. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Idaho and a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Utah State University. She worked in various elementary schools, plant nurseries, and volunteered at various locations over the years.

Jean was a compassionate, talented person with an avid curiosity about natural settings and loved any coastal beach. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
