Jerald Clyde “Jerry” Brown, 78, passed on Dec. 8, 2024, in San Miguel de Allende, GTO, Mexico. Jerry, the oldest of 7 children, was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Aberdeen, Washington to his parents Joel Clyde and Marjorie Glee Highland Brown. Jerry attended Hoquiam High School through his sophomore year moving to Aberdeen and graduating from Aberdeen High School in 1965. He attended Shoreline Community College and then went to work through the Laborers Union.
He started for Interstate Asphalt in 1974 and moved up to a foreman position. Interstate Asphalt was bought out by Lakeside Industries where he stayed on as a foreman and eventually moved up to Superintendent. He retired in January, 2010. While working for Lakeside he was an intricate part of Lakeside’s many state and national paving awards.
He married Gloria Rugger March 2, 1974 in Aberdeen. They started Techline/Cellular Connection in Aberdeen in 1992 and ran it successfully until 2016. Jerry and Gloria have residences in Grays Harbor and San Miguel de Allende, GTO, Mexico. They have spent the majority of their retirement time in Mexico where they have traveled and enjoyed their home and warm weather.
Jerry is survived by his wife Gloria, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; his children Ken (Coleen) Aldrich, Montesano; Cheryl (Joe) Boone, Harker Heights, Texas; Mike (Toni) Brown, Aberdeen; and Jerry (Kathy) Brown Jr., Olympia; two brothers Wayne Brown, Montesano and Gene Brown, Aberdeen. They have been blessed with 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers Donald Brown, Ricky Brown, Jaime Brown, a sister Marcia Lenss, son Steve Aldrich and a grandson Stephen Aldrich.
A memorial service will be held in Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge. Private family inurnment will take place prior to that time.
