Jeremy Jerome Wakefield passed away on March 29, 2025, in his home. Born on Oct. 16, 1979, in Aberdeen, Washington to Robert and Donna (Johnson) Wakefield, he grew up in Aberdeen where he attended school, played sports, played in band, hunted and fished.

He signed up for the military as a Junior in high school, officially joining the National Guard at the age of 18. He worked at the Westport Shipyard, Evergreen Treatment Services, Sierra Pacific, Stafford Creek Corrections Center and most recently, Lemay’s.

Jeremy loved anything involving the outdoors — camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking, traveling and motorcycles. He loved carpentry and had a gift for building anything. Jeremy had a special talent in wood working, where he carved all things big and small. He will be remembered for his laugh, the love he had for his family, always being the man who could strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone, and being willing to help at any time, any place. He was especially proud to serve his country and choosing to live a sober lifestyle.

Jeremy married Tonya Gottwald and had two beautiful daughters; they later separated but remained good friends. In 2023 he married his wife Margie, where she resides in their home.

Jeremy is survived by his daughters Austin and Alex, stepdaughter Rebekka, and stepson Stephen, his mother, Donna and Rick (partner), brother Jason (Kendra), grandchildren, Waverlee and Novalee, nieces Ashlynn, Nicole, Kaitlynn, Hali and Hollynn, great-nieces Brookelyn and Kaycee and great-nephews, Orion and Braxtyn. Jeremy is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wakefield.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at 56 Rosemary Lane S, Elma at 12 p.m.
