Joseph A. McCloskey, age 73, of Chehalis, Washington, passed away on Feb. 10, 2021, at Providence Centralia Hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1947, in Aberdeen, Washington.
On Feb. 23, 1968, Joe married his beloved wife, Carolyn Ramsaur, in Aberdeen, Washington. They were married for 52 years.
He was a contract logger for over 30 years. His final job was with Cascade Trader in Chehalis, Washington. Joe graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen and attended Grays Harbor College, also in Aberdeen.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn McCloskey, and children Michael McCloskey, Bryan McCloskey and Michele McCloskey. He is also survived by his mother, Roberta West, sister Debbi Moran, brother Ken McCloskey, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Arnold McCloskey and brother Jeff McCloskey.
Joe will be remembered for his strength and loyalty to his faith, family and friends. Joe dedicated his life to Jesus Christ in 1978, and shared the hope and love of his Saviour to all. Joe loved his Bible and studied and taught God’s word to those in church and those that came across his path. He was always excitedly sharing new nuggets of truth that he was learning.
Not only was his relationship with Jesus important, but his relationships with his family. Joe took delight and pride in his wife, children and grandchildren. You could always see the joy and happiness in his smile when he was surrounded by his family.
Joe was most at home in the woods and in nature. He loved logging, hunting and fishing and made many memories with his family on hunting, fishing and camping trips.
Joe is loved and missed by many but also being celebrated with a firm reassurance that he is joyfully received by his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
