Joseph Dale “Jody” Rustemeyer, 65, lifetime Harborite, sawyer and owner of Rustemeyer Shake and Shingle in Montesano, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington.

Jody was born on June 4, 1957, in Aberdeen to Joseph and Rosemary (O’Dell) Rustemeyer. He lived in McCleary for most of his life. Graduated from Elma High School in 1975 and went to work in the woods cutting cedar blocks, then he transitioned to working in mills cutting cedar shakes and shingles.

In 1998, he went to work for himself and retired from Rustemeyer Shake and Shingle. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and clam digging. He was an avid Huskies fan.

Jody is survived by his niece, Brandy (Tony) Martinez of Elma; nephews: Joe (Tonya) Morgan of Elma, Jason (Melissa) Rustemeyer of Elma, Seth (Toni) Rustemeyer of Littlerock, and Mike Rustemeyer of Aberdeen. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Mary Rustemeyer and Betty Morgan.

A graveside service for Jody will be held on Monday, May 22, at 1 p.m. at Elma Masonic Cemetery, Elma, Washington, with reception to follow at the McCleary Community Center, McCleary, Washington.

Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
