Julius A Vegh

Julius A Vegh was born on February 13, 1951 in Debrecen, Hungary.

Julius A Vegh was born on February 13, 1951 in Debrecen, Hungary. With the Hungarian revolution in 1956 Julius’ family became refugees. They came to Aberdeen, under the sponsorship of Dr Richard Kegel, where they made their home and came to not only love the USA but especially Grays Harbor.

Julius attended Weatherwax High School. He participated in football in the fall and, in summer, he played baseball and spent a good deal of time at the beach. Swimming at Ocean Shores Community Club was a favorite pastime.

Julius was an avid fisherman for several summers for a charter at Westport. He not only loved salmon fishing, but deep sea fishing for tuna. He also fished a number of the rivers in the Harbor.

Julius enjoyed friendships and had many throughout his life. His impaired hearing sometimes, though, made communication difficult for him. Texting eased some of the dialogue problems. As a talented craftsman, he was very happy to help those around him with repairs and construction. He earned most of his money laying floors and carpeting professionally.

In his later years, Julius lived in Gig Harbor with his brother. He enjoyed time on the computer, much of it chatting with friends. A lot of his time was also spent in the kitchen and on the patio smoking meats and making sausages for his loved ones.

Julius was preceded in his death by his father, Dr. Julius Vegh and mother Margarette. He is survived by his sister, Eva Butler and brother, Arthur Vegh, nieces, Jennifer Vegh and Nicolette Butler, and the nephews, Dr. Michael Vegh, Mathew Vegh, and David C. Butler, and his grandnephew Julius Noah Vegh, plus two ex-wives.

Julius died quietly at home 3/19/23.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Peninsula Baptist Church. 6127 38th Ave W. Gig Harbor, WA 98335
