Karen Suzanne Copeland was born in Hoquiam, Wash., on Sept. 11, 1938. She passed away at her home in Modesto, Calif., on Sept. 15, 2016, after a three-month battle with an aggressive brain tumor.
She is survived by her son Michael Brado; daughter Daneal (Brado) Bochenek; two grandchildren, all residing in California; and sister Buddie (Copeland) Michels of Olympia, Wash.; two nieces; a nephew; several cousins and friends.
Karen graduated high school and lived in Aberdeen where she raised her children and worked for Copland Insurance Agency until she moved to San Jose in 1981. Later on, both Michael and Daneal joined her in California. After retiring from insurance work, she owned a gift shop for a period of time and had just recently moved to Modesto, Calif.
The family would like to invite you to join us for a “Celebration of Life” Swedish buffet brunch at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, at the Polson Mansion in Hoquiam where we will toast Karen’s life and share our memories about her.
