Karen Jeanette Linné, age 63 of Hoquiam, went home to be with the Lord in the early hours of Dec. 15, 2018. Her passing was very sudden and unexpected. It came as a shock to her family and all those who loved her.
Karen was born in Coudersport, Penn. to Duncan and Marilyn (Barker) Cobb. She and her family moved to Hoquiam in her early childhood. She attended Washington Elementary, Hoquiam Jr. High School and Hoquiam High School. Karen married Butch Turner on June 25, 1971. They later divorced, but not before she gave birth to two daughters, Korey and Kristy. On April 29, 1981, she married her best friend and the love of her life, Bill Linné. They welcomed their son, Levi two years later. In addition to raising a family, Karen pursued her nursing degree at Grays Harbor College. Over the course of her nursing career she worked at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Pacific Care Center, Dr. Harris’ office and the Family Practice Center of Hoquiam (where she finally retired).
Karen was a happy person who loved her family, friends, and patients. She loved crossword puzzles, Words With Friends (where she may or may not have let you win just so you would keep playing), reading, sewing and canning (especially her famous dill pickles!). She enjoyed camping and cooking, but mostly, she loved just doing anything that brought her together with family and friends. She had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. Karen was a beautiful and loving soul who would have given the shirt off her back to someone in need. She touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. The world is a better place because she was in it.
Karen is survived by her husband, Bill Linné of Hoquiam; daughters, Korey (Tim) O’Connell of Tenino and Kristy (Nate) Vargas of Olympia; a son, Levi (Becca) Linné and grandchildren, Lauren, Johnny, Ashlee, Landin, Luke, Jo-Jo and Mikey. She is also survived by her mother, Marilyn Cobb Pratt of Hoquiam; sisters Dotti (Bob) Smith of Moscow, Idaho and Debbi (John) Matisons of Hoquiam and a brother, Clark Cobb of Hoquiam. She was preceded in death by her father, Duncan Cobb and her three brothers, Duncan Cobb Jr., David Cobb and Ty Cobb.
A memorial service with pastor Kent Gravley officiating will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 12, 2019, at the Immanuel Baptist Church.
