Kenneth Allen Hale Sr., 72, Aberdeen resident and former automotive mechanic, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at his home in Aberdeen.
Ken was born on Oct, 24, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois to James and Irene (Delano) Hale. His family moved to the Harbor when he was 8 and he graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1968. He went to Bates Vocational College where he graduated with a certificate in automotive technology.
He enjoyed fishing and watching football. His passion in life was his grandchildren.
Ken is survived by a son Kenneth (Spirit) Hale Jr. of Aberdeen; a daughter, Kimberley (Abel Salas) Hale of Aberdeen; a step-daughter, Mandy (Greg) Gourlie of Aberdeen and life partner Debbra Hale; grandchildren: Alyssa Hale, Maria Hale, Kaitlin Clark, Nathan Schroeder, Dillen Espana, Kenneth Hale III, Nekitia Espana, Szander Frazer, Marcus Hale and Ezekiel Gourlie; and great-grandchildren: Kari Peterson, Mylah Hale, Zuleima Hale and Leo Nelson. Ken was preceded in death by his two sons Kraig Hale and Michael Frazer; a brother, James Hale; and two sisters, Sue Hale and Sandy McFadden.
There will be a celebration of life on Jan. 7, 2023. at Harbor City Church. Doors open at 11 a.m. and service starts at noon, followed by a potluck reception at The Ocosta Rec Hall.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
