Kenneth ‘Ken’ Earl Naff Smith

Kenneth “Ken” Earl Naff Smith passed away at his home in Aberdeen on Feb. 11, 2025 at the age of 75.

Kenneth “Ken” Earl Naff Smith passed away at his home in Aberdeen on Feb. 11, 2025 at the age of 75. He was born in Colville on Nov. 7, 1949 to parents Earl Lawrence Naff and Inez Laverne (Moffitt) Smith.

He married Janice Mollett in April of 1971 and had two children together, Gregory and Kevin, before divorcing later. He later married his best friend/partner in crime/confidant/ love of his life, Chris Walther-Ebling. Ken and Chris were married Aug. 13, 1983 and then remarried Sept. 25, 1991.

In addition to raising their own children, they also raised six of their grandchildren. Ken had the biggest heart for children. He enjoyed teaching them life skills that would help them later on in life and always wanted to bring them home with him.

He was a graduate of Pullman High School and served in the United States Navy for four years. He also worked for Timberland Security and was a Deputy Sheriff. Ken was a member of the Pacific Beach Community Church and the Grays Harbor Gun Club. He loved camping, boating, cooking, gardening, cutting firewood, fishing, hunting, and exploring the great outdoors.

But most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Ken loved going to Colville to spend time with his Uncle Jim and Aunt TrienaD’ and was like a kid in a candy store while planning the trip. Ken’s best friend in the whole world was his Uncle Jim.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Juanita “Chris” (Walther) Smith; sons Gregory (Ashley) Smith of Ocean City and Kevin (Alicia) Smith of Everett; daughters Andrea (Dave) Halstead of Puyallup and Edna Ebling of Hoquiam; brother Larry (Kim) Naff Smith of Chimacum; sister Tricia Bissett of Centralia, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Earl Naff and Inez (Moffitt) Smith.

A memorial service will be held on March 1, at 1 p.m. at the Wishkah Valley Church.
